Antoinette L. DeMaster, 98, of Sheboygan Falls and formerly of Oostburg, passed away on Monday morning, April 26, 2010 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. Antoinette was born on April 6, 1912 in Sheboygan, daughter of the late Jacob and Josephine (Verhulst) LeMahieu. She was a 1929 graduate of Oostburg High School and a 1930 graduate of Sheboygan County Normal Teacher College. She taught in West Cedar Grove Grade School and Harmony Grade School. On June 18, 1936 she married Earl DeMaster in Oostburg. Earl preceded her in death on November 3, 1982. She and her husband owned a farm in the Town of Wilson for many years. Antoinette was a member of Grace Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Sheboygan and formerly of Bethel Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Oostburg. She was active in various church women's groups and helped organize a Bible study at Pine Haven Christian Home. Antoinette enjoyed reading, gardening, card and board games, travel, canning, freezing, flowers and Bible study. Antoinette and her husband were instrumental in the founding of Oostburg Christian School and Sheboygan County Christian High School. Antoinette is survived by five sons, Rev. Ivan (Carla) DeMaster of Sheboygan, Richard (Evangeline) DeMaster of Mt. Vernon, WA, Dr. Eugene (Barbara) DeMaster of Eagan, MN, Dr. Robert (Sandra) DeMaster of McMinnville, OR and John (RuthAnn) DeMaster of Rochester, NY; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one sister Eunice Simmelink of Cedar Grove; one sister-in-law Eleanore LeMahieu of Oostburg; one brother-in-law Ralph (Doris) DeMaster of Cedar Grove; also cousins, nieces and nephews. Antoinette was preceded in death by her husband Earl, one son Daniel DeMaster; one grandson Matthew DeMaster; and two brothers, Raymond and Howard (Evelyn) LeMahieu. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 11:00 am at Grace OPC in Sheboygan with Rev. Brian DeJong officiating. Burial will take place at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 pm and also on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 until the time of the service at 11:00 am. A memorial fund has been established in Antoinette's name for Oostburg Christian School, Sheboygan County Christian High School, Grace OPC and Pine Haven Christian Home. 'God blessed Antoinette with the rare opportunity to see her impact not just on the next generation, but on the third and fourth generations as well. She faithfully raised her sons to be men devoted to faith, family and service.
