Anneliese Kettleson

Anneliese M. Kettleson, 94, of Sheboygan and formerly of Cedar Grove, died on Sunday morning, January 4, 2015 at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center where she had been a resident for the past year. Anneliese was born in Bremerhaven, Germany on November 5, 1920, the daughter of Johann and Maria (Jung) Sturm. Anneliese married Carl Kettleson in Bremerhaven on May 31, 1947. Together they came to the United States in the fall of 1947. They lived in various places including Horicon and Watertown before moving to Cedar Gove in 1963. Anneliese and her husband owned and operated the Cedar Grove Bakery for 23 years until their retirement in 1984. Anneliese is a member of the First Reformed Church in Oostburg and the American Legion Auxiliary in Cedar Grove. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, flowers, Bible reading and babysitting her grandchildren. Anneliese had a great love for her Christian faith and devoted her life and energies to her family. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Carl of Oostburg; two daughters, Heidemaire (Roger) Rothschadl of Watertown and Marian (Harland) Hopeman of Oostburg; six grandchildren, Tony (Denise) Rothschadl, Mike (Mary) Rothschadl, Christi Schroeder, Michelle (Brian) Hesse, Carl (Pam) Hopeman, and Heidi (Jamie) Eernisse; and 11 great grandchildren. Anneliese is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, all of Germany. Anneliese was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Fehrs, and Rosemarie Frier; and two brothers, Hans and Heiner Sturm. A memorial service to celebrate Anneliese's life will be held at the First Reformed Church in Oostburg on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 11 am with the Rev. Brian Taylor officiating. Family and friends will gather at the church from 9:30 until the time of the service at 11 am.
