Anna Koskamp

Anna J. Koskamp, 86, of 505 Enterprise Drive, Apt 304, Independence, Iowa 50644 and formerly of Oostburg, Wisconsin, died Sunday evening, December 4, 2011 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa Anna was born on August 19, 1925, in Oostburg, the daughter of Anthony J. and Delia B. (Dirkse) Hendrikse. She attended the Oostburg Elementary Schools, and was married to Peter S. Koskamp on October 12, 1945 in Oostburg. The couple lived in Wisconsin prior to moving to Independence, Iowa in 1967 where she graduated from the Independence High School in 1976. Anna was employed with as a clerk Fareway Foods until her retirement in 1977. She was a member of The Independence Christian Women's Club, the Ladies Musical Society, and the Gideon's. She is survived by her husband; Peter Koskamp, Independence, IA., three children; Dianne (Gerald) Lienbenstein, Normal, Illinois, Susan (Rev. Donald) DeKok, Alton, IA., and Thomas (Donna) Koskamp, Independence, IA., eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and three brothers; Erwin (Margaret) Hendrikse, Oostburg, John Hendrikse, Sheboygan, and A. Richard (Jean) Hendrikse, Oostburg; three sisters-in-law, Annette Hendrikse of Oostburg, Mary (Clarence) Thiel of Hingham, and Jane Ratmeyer of Griffin, GA; and three brothers-in-law, James Droge of Rockford, Michigan, Paul (Edna) Koskamp of Port Washington and Aaron (Barbara) Koskamp of Pella, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother; Peter Hendrikse, and two sisters; Nelda (Earl) Walvoord, and Wilma Droge. Funeral services to celebrate Anna's life will be held at 10 am Friday, December 9, 2011 at the Wenig Funeral Home, Oostburg with the rev. Donald DeKok officiating. Burial will be in the Hingham Cemetery in the Town of Lima. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Friday from 9 am until the time of service at 10 am.
