Ann M. Braun, 75 of North Prospect Ave, Milwaukee, died peacefully Monday, February 10, 2025, at her home.
Ann was born on December 13, 1949, in Fond du Lac to Roland and Rosamond (Gehl) Kees, the youngest of their four children. Her childhood was spent in Fond du Lac and St. Cloud WI. As an adult, Ann lived briefly in Riverside CA before returning to Wisconsin to marry Thomas G. Braun, the son of Joseph and Dorothy (Michels) Braun, at St. Cloud Church on December 27, 1969. Tom preceded her in death on November 25, 2004. They made their home in Sheboygan until 1974 when they moved to Sheboygan Falls. Their son, Andy Braun, was born in 1974. Ann had an interesting and long career. Beginning at what is now known as Hub Insurance, she held various positions in sales and management until 1995 when she accepted a position working for David King Aymond, MD, with whom she became a life-long friend, first at The Sheboygan Clinic, and later at various corporations in which he was either involved or owned. She held a great variety of management positions before retiring in 2012. After Tom's death, Ann continued to live in and take care of their home in Sheboygan Falls for a number of years. In 2012, Ann began a relationship with Bob Ojala, a friend of some years. Together, they lived both in Chicago and Milwaukee. They traveled extensively and had many fun adventures together, treasuring their love for each other second time around. Ann thoroughly enjoyed living in and getting to know Chicago. Despite not moving there until she was 62, it became a beloved home that she became very familiar with, joking often about how people stopped her to ask for directions which she was always able to provide.
Ann is survived by Bob Ojala of Milwaukee, her son Andy, his wife Becky, their children, Lauren Braun and Alex Braun all of Washington, IL. She is further survived by her sister and brother-in-law Janet and Merle Nett, Random Lake, WI, her brothers-in-law Joseph Morgen, Sheboygan Falls, David Braun, Sheboygan, WI, brother and sister-in-law Richard and Joan Braun, Mt. Calvary, WI, and sisters-in-law Dorothy Bechlem, St. Peter, WI, and Salma Alami, Knoxville TN. She is also survived by Bob's children and grandchildren, Susan (Eric) Ojala Myers (Alex, Ethan, Sophia), Rachel (Justin) Ojala Dumke (Brycen, Caden), Claire (Adam) Ojala Caldarelli, David (Esther Oh) Ojala (Christian), Anne (James) Ojala Fiske (Nolan, Marlowe, Maddox), Ellen (Kevin) Ojala Benes (Ronan), numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.
In addition to Tom, Ann was predeceased by her parents, parents-in-law, brother Gary Kees, sister Mary Morgen, sisters-in-law Germaine Braun, Joanne Braun, brothers-in-law Joseph Bechlem, James (Oscar) Braun, and nephew Jake Winkler.
