Angeline Treeck

Angeline M. Van Treeck, 88, of Racine, formerly of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2011 at Elizabeth Residence Assisted Living in Racine. Angeline was born on August 9, 1922 in Sheboygan County, daughter of Martin and Lydia (Grievink) Nysse. On October 18, 1941 she married Jacob Van Treeck at St. George Catholic Church in the Town of Wilson. Jacob preceded her in death on November 12, 2002. Angeline was a long time member of St. George Catholic Church and now Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls. She was a farmer's wife that enjoyed spending time with her family. Angeline was a dedicated mother of ten children that demonstrated quiet strength in helping her children grow in love and faith. She also worked side by side with her husband Jacob on the Van Treeck Homestead that became registered as a Century Farm. They were long time members of the NFO. As a young woman Angeline enjoyed yodeling and listening to Lulu Belle and Scotty on the radio. In later years Angeline relished working at the Villager Restaurant with her daughter Jackie where she shared her talents and her special pie crust recipe that is still enjoyed today. She also enjoyed listening to Lawrence Welk, playing bingo, collecting coins, visiting thrift shops, canning her legendary dill pickles, taking day trips and going out for lunch with friends and family. Angeline is survived by six daughters, Patricia Hoffmann of Hortonville, Nancy (Keith) Auld of East Machias, Maine, Jane Van Treeck of Plymouth, Bonnie (Tony) Dunn of Machiasport, Maine, Jacqueline (Robert) Eigenberger of Sheboygan Falls and Marcia (Charles) DeIrueste of Cedarburg; two sons, Jerome (Rosemary) Van Treeck of Racine and Terrence (Cathy) Van Treeck of Sheboygan Falls; one son-in-law, William Martin of Hortonville; 31 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Albert (Lucille) Nysse of Sheboygan Falls. Angeline was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jacob, two daughters Mary Jane Martin and Shirley Ramsey, two infant grandsons Sojourney and Peter, one son-in-law Richard Hoffmann, three sisters Elsie Van Sluys, Martha Van Ess and Dorothy Wessel, five brothers Louis, Clarence, Theodore, Edward and Lawrence Nysse, one infant brother Matthew Nysse. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 pm on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Interment will take place at St. George Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Wilson. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 12:00 pm.
