Amber M. Averkamp, 63, of Sheboygan Falls, passed peacefully away on Saturday, December 14th, 2024 at the Sheboygan Senior Community.
She was born Oct. 17th, 1961 in Milwaukee, Wis., daughter of Gerald and Karen Averkamp. Amber lived in Sheboygan Falls for over 30 years and was well known around town having been a supervisor at the downtown Ryan of Falls, serving morning coffee and newspapers to locals for 20 years. Amber gave back to her community over the years in many ways. While at Ryans, she participated in a yearly charitable fund raiser and won 1st prize every year for raising the most money for the community. She also donated her time helping children at the local Big Sister program. Plus, she proudly portrayed Miss Ducky at the Ducktona every July until 2023.
For the past 10 years Amber loved serving breakfast and lunch to her residents on Hickory at the Sheboygan Senior Community in her artfully decorated dining room, which she did for every season and holiday to the delight of staff and visitors alike. In her honor her dining room will be forever named “Miss Ducky’s Kitchen”.
Amber’s ashes will be laid to rest with other family members at The Heartwood Nature Preserve in Florida by her loving Mother. Donations in her name, and her beloved cats, may be made to the Humane Society of Sheboygan County.
