Allan DeBlaey

Allan Harold DeBlaey, 87, a resident at Gables on the Pond, formerly of Random Lake, died Friday, February 28, 2014. He was born on October 6, 1926 in the town of Holland to the late Harry and Suzanne (Dirkse) DeBlaey. Allan attended Oostburg High School and then spent the majority of his life dairy farming with his brother Ray in the town of Holland. Allan married Marian Debbink on October 27, 1948 in the town of Lima, she preceded him in death on August 7, 1988. On April 15, 1994 he married Evelyn Sevener in Cedar Grove. After he retired from farming in 1995 he spent a lot of time with his brothers, Don and Ray. Allan was a member of Calvary OPC in Cedar Grove. He enjoyed reading, gardening, playing cards and socializing with friends at Gables on the Pond. Allan was a kind and gentle man with an extremely pleasant personality. Everyone enjoyed his beautiful smile. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Allan is survived by his wife, Evelyn; 1 son, Dale (Ann) DeBlaey of Sheboygan Falls; 4 daughters, Carol Jesinski of Sheboygan, Janice (Mark) Hesselink of Cedar Grove, Joan (Kerry) Meves of Sheboygan, Margie (Thomas) Schultz of Cedar Grove; 4 step sons, James Mayer of Appleton, Robert (Doris) Mayer of Random Lake, Richard Mayer of Oshkosh, Jeffrey Mayer of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Jeff (Mary) Jesinski, John (Sanya) DeBlaey, Ashley DeBlaey, Rachel (Chris) Hill, Nick (Kori) Hesselink, Christopher Meves, Joshua Meves, Noah Schultz; 7 step grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren. He is further survived by other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marian; 2 brothers, Don and Ray; 1 grandson, Philip Jesinski and 1 step great granddaughter, Nicole Ashley Mayer. A funeral service to celebrate Allan's life will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg with Rev. Ronald Beabout officiating. Burial will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in the town of Wilson. Relatives and friends may call upon the family at the funeral home from 11 am until the time of service at 1pm on Tuesday.
