Alice M. TeRonde, 101, of Oostburg, passed away on Wednesday evening, December 4, 2013, at Pine Haven Residential Home in Sheboygan Falls. Alice was born on May 16, 1912, in the Town of Holland, daughter of J.W. and Minnie (Meerdink) Roerdink. She attended Oostburg School. During World War II Alice sewed silk parachutes at a factory in Milwaukee. She also worked at the Raincoat Factory in Oostburg for several years. On January 1, 1935, she married A. Willard TeRonde in Oostburg. Willard passed away on October 12, 1993. Alice was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Oostburg and the Women's Society. Alice enjoyed card playing, sewing, drapery making, cooking, baking, and music. She and her family spent many enjoyable summers at their family cottage on Lake Michigan. Alice is survived by her two daughters, Helen (David) Morrison of Berlin and Carol (Michael) Skeris of Oostburg; her two sons, Richard TeRonde of Pewaukee and Roy (Irene) TeRonde of Beaver Dam; eleven grandchildren; David (Traci) Morrison Jr. Paul (LaVay) Morrison, Debbie (Ron) Uecker, Lynn Alice Morrison, Dan Skeris, Andy Skeris, Jim (Teresa) TeRonde, Jeff (Marcia) TeRonde, Sharon (Dave) Kowal, Zoe TeRonde and Chris TeRonde; 19 great-grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and two sisters-in-law, Myrlee TeRonde of Sheboygan and Helena Roerdink of Eagle River. Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Willard, her parents, an infant daughter, one granddaughter, five sisters, and three brothers. Funeral services to celebrate Alice's life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Oostburg on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 11 am with Rev. Brian Jacobson officiating. Burial will take place in Oostburg Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:30-11 am. A memorial fund has been established in Alice's name for Pine Haven Christian Communities.
