Alice A. Rades Alice A. Rades, 92, a lifelong resident of the Town of Sheboygan Falls died on Saturday night, December 13, 2008 at Meadowview Manor in Sheboygan where she had resided for the past five months. Alice was born on June 24, 1916 on the homestead in the Town of Sheboygan Falls, the daughter of the late Julius and Hedwig "Hattie" (Dassow) Bassuener. She attended the Monroe School in Sheboygan Falls. Alice married the late Harry Rades on July 12, 1947 in Sheboygan Falls. He preceded her in death on May 3, 1981. Alice was a lifetime member of Saron United Church of Christ in Sheboygan Falls where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She enjoyed polka music and spending time dancing with her friends at Johnsonville. She was an animal lover and was particularly fond of cats. Alice was a devoted caretaker of her parents until the time of their deaths. She lived on the homestead in the Town of Sheboygan Falls up until 2001. She is survived by one niece, Carol Sue (fiancé Joe Nennig Jr.) Nett of Elkhart Lake; four nephews, Richard (Elaine) Hoffmann of Mesa, AZ, Carl Hoffmann of Clearwater, FL, Harold (Barbara) Sinner of Elkhart Lake, and Manny (Elaine) Zunker of Sheboygan Falls; one cousin, Leila Ziemke of Sheboygan Falls; and many great nieces and great nephews. Alice was preceded in death by three sisters, Lillian Sinner, Marcella Zunker, and Irma Hoffmann; one brother, Harold Bassuenner; a niece, Carol Dawn Witten; a nephew-in-law, Andrew Nett; and a great nephew, Jay Witten. Funeral services will be held at the Wenig Funeral Home, 711 Broadway, Sheboygan Falls on Wednesday evening at 7 pm with the Rev. Kathryn Kuhn officiating. Entombment will take place at the Gardens of Peace in the Town of Sheboygan. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home, 711 Broadway in Sheboygan Falls on Wednesday from 5 pm until the time of the service at 7 pm.
