Mary Ann Grotenhuis, 90, formerly of Oostburg, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls. Mary Ann was born on November 24, 1923, in Cedar Grove, daughter of Ulysses and Ann (Dirkse) Grotenhuis. She was a graduate of the Wisconsin Memorial Academy in Cedar Grove. Mary Ann was a member of Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove. She enjoyed word puzzles and reading. Mary Ann lived a simple life of humble service to others who had needs. Mary Ann is survived by her sister-in-law, Eleanor Grotenhuis of Byron Center, MI, three nephews, and cousins. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Grotenhuis; and her brother, Dale "Jack" Grotenhuis. Funeral services to celebrate Mary Ann's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 21, 2013, at Calvary OPC in Cedar Grove with Rev. Ronald L. Beabout and Rev. David Van Dixhorn officiating. Burial will take place in Presbyterian Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 1:30 pm until the time of the service at 2:00 pm. A memorial fund has been established in Mary Ann's name for Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
