Edward Sippel

Edward J. Sippel, 90, of Sheboygan Falls, and formerly of Glenbeulah, died peacefully on Sunday morning, February 19, 2012 at Pine Haven Covenant Home in Sheboygan Falls. Edward was born on February 2, 1922 in St. Cloud, the son of the late Albert and Louise (Michels) Sippel. He attended St Cloud Catholic Grade School. Ed served in the US Army during World War II. On September 2, 1944 he married Bernice Witkowski. She preceded him in death on January 8, 2006. Ed worked at W D Scott Lumber Co. in Glenbeulah for 20 years and then as a janitor at Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah High School for several years before his retirement in 1987. Ed and his wife retired to Albuquerque, NM for 20 years before returning to Sheboygan County. Ed was a former member of St. Fridolin Catholic Church in Glenbeulah and was a volunteer fireman in Glenbeulah. He enjoyed fishing, lawn and garden work, playing cards and traveling. Ed lived a simple life, worked hard, loved and cared for his family dearly. He will be missed. Ed is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Ed) Thiessen of Sheboygan Falls and Karen (John) Seider of Neenah; two sons, Jerome (Sharon) Sippel of Fond du Lac and Joel (DeDe) Sippel of New Mexico; seven grandchildren, Charles Thiessen, Paul (Julie) Thiessen, Amy (Scott) Bruch, Wendy (Dirk) Hansen, Todd (Sarah) Sippel, Michael (Jayne) Seider, and Christopher (Jessica) Seider; 14 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; three brothers, LeRoy (Rawleen) Sippel of St. Cloud, Cletus (Janet) Sippel of St. Cloud, and Fr. Bernard Sippel of Wauwatosa; and one sister-in-law, Helen Sippel of West Allis. Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice; and two brothers, Alphonse (Virginia) and Ambrose Sippel. Private family services will be held to celebrate Ed's life, with his brother, Fr. Bernard Sippel, officiating. Burial will take place at St. Fridolin Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Greenbush.
