Don DePagter

Don L. DePagter, 68, of Sheboygan Falls passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Froedtert Memorial Hospital in Milwaukee. Don was born on November 4, 1946 in Sheboygan to Louis and Catherine (Wondergem) DePagter. Don attended school in Oostburg. He served in the US Army from 1966-1968. On May 1, 1971 he married Elizabeth "Betty" Heidenreiter at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sheboygan Falls. Don spent the majority of his life farming. After his retirement from farming he worked at Willman Industries until 2008. Don was a member of the American Legion Post 286 in Oostburg. Don enjoyed woodworking and had a love for animals, especially his cocker spaniel, Sammy. Don is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty; one daughter, Debbie (Todd) DeZoute and grandchildren, Joe and Levi of Oostburg; three sons, Kurt DePagter and grandchildren, Carson and Brielle of Green Bay, Michael (Robyn) DePagter and grandchildren, Holli, Donavan, Charlie and Kellee of Oostburg and Jeffrey DePagter of Oostburg; three sisters, Marcia Loomans of Waupun, Carolyn (Gerald) Smits of Wisconsin Rapids and Ruth Mentink of Oostburg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kathy (John) Felton, Anna (Michael) Back, Chris (Vincent) Kriner, Peter (Kay) Heindenreiter, Verne (Karen) Heidenreiter and Romaine Heidenreiter; a special niece, Kris Ann (Nick) Wychesit of Oostburg. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers-in-law, Glenn Loomans, John Mentink and Paul Heidenreiter, father and mother-in-law, Erwin and Dolores Heidenreiter. A memorial service to celebrate Don's life will be on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 6pm at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg with Rev. Brian Jacobson officiating. Military honors will follow. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the funeral home from 3pm until the time of service at 6pm. A memorial fund is being established in Don's name.
