Cornelia Roerdink, 96, of Sheboygan Falls and formerly Oostburg, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2010 at Pine Haven Christian Home. Cornelia was born on July 2, 1914 in Sheboygan, daughter of John P. and Martha (Huibregtse) Luteyn. She attended Sheboygan Christian School. On September 10, 1936 she married Milfert G. Roerdink at the Oostburg Christian Reformed Parsonage. Milfert preceded her in death on May 9, 1999. Cornelia was employed with the Kohler Company for 25 years until her retirement in 1972. Cornelia was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg. She was active in the Martha Society and the Oostburg Christian School Circle. Cornelia loved taking care of her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed needlework and made over 100 hats per year for "The Other Way". Cornelia is survived by one daughter, Jean (Kenneth) Bailey of Oostburg; one grandson, James (Amy) Bailey; three step-grandchildren, Lynn Marie, Diane Kay, and Jeff; seven great-grandchildren; eleven step great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Eleanor Le Mahieu of Oostburg; two sisters-in-law, Alice Te Ronde of Oostburg and Helena Roerdink of Eagle River; one brother-in-law, Art Lensink of Oostburg. Cornelia is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Cornelia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Milfert, one infant son, one grandson Kenneth Michael Bailey, one granddaughter Kay Marie Bailey, four sisters, Mary Ann Ver Straate, Margaret Krominga, Jermina Veldboom, Nell Lensink, one brother John Luteyn and one sister-in-law Esther Mentink, one brother-in-law Howard Roerdink. Funeral services for Cornelia will be at 2:30 pm on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg with the Rev. Ben Johnson officiating. Burial will take place in Hartman Cemetery in the Town of Wilson. Relatives and friends may call from 1:00 pm until the time of the service Thursday at the church. A memorial fund has been established in Cornelia's name. Cornelia's family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Pine Haven Christian Home and Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion.
