Carol Ziegler

Carol D. Ziegler, 78, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. Carol was born on August 18, 1932 in Sheboygan, daughter of the late Joseph and Aleta (Burkart) Deischl. She was a 1950 graduate of Sheboygan North High School. On May 22, 1954 she married Gerald "Jerry" J. Ziegler at Holy Name Church in Sheboygan. Carol was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls where she served as a Lector, Distributor of the Eucharist, and on the Bereavement Committee. She belonged to a 500 Club since 1956. She worked as a Chapter I Reading Aide for 24 years. She also volunteered at St. Nicholas Hospital. Carol loved flowers, especially rose bushes and playing bridge with her husband Jerry and her Bridge partner. She was a perfectionist that enjoyed holiday decorating, cooking and golfing. Carol loved taking care of her great-grandson. Carol is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jerry; one son, Joseph L. (Janet) Ziegler of Sheboygan; two grandchildren, Megan (Tim) Wilbert and Nathan Ziegler; two great-grandchildren, Matthew Wilbert and Therese Schumacher ; one sister, Marion Siegel of Neenah; one sister-in-law, Eileen Redensek of Sheboygan Falls, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers-in-law, Bernard Siegel and Victor Redensek. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 13, 2010 at 5:30 pm at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Interment will take place in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Sheboygan Falls. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 3:30 pm until the time of the Mass at 5:30 pm.
